  memorial: how do you feel?

  this question is mostly for those of you who still believe in the bible to some extent.

  my mother-in-law called the other day to see if rileygurl and i were going to the memorial this year.

  we told her that we wouldn't be attending.

  unanswered:
  i no longer believe the wt and am still reasoning the degree to which i believe the bible. for one simple reason: just as a word cannot be used to define itself, i find it illogical to use the bible as proof and evidence for its own veracity.
  in answer to your question, i still get the yearly invite from my folks to which i smile and say thank you. do i feel responsible to attend or guilty for not attending? my answers are simply, no and i dont.
  my view on religion has been tainted by the WT, and now askews from the norm. if indeed ANY of what we were taught is true, i am hoping that this loving father(yahweh) and Jesus Christ will show their undying mercy and understanding on my soul, for the trauma i experienced and endured in the Witness Reform Movement. this is neither an excuse nor a justification, simply my reaction to an experience most of us here share.
  in my studies i have come across a druid axiom which has helped me Nate. "a druid is dependent upon no man, and answerable solely to the voice of his own conscience."

  about almost everything: how life will be in the new world ordertm, how and when armageddon is going to happen, whether the latest newspaper headline really signals that armageddon is about to start, what the latest new lighttm is going to be, and on and on.. so heres something to also speculate about.

  and what about the lollards the waldenses or the anabaptists were they all apostate?.

  Hippikon, i was not assimilated properly, there must have been a virus in the software, i may have detected it when i heard myself thinking out loud or was it just simply thinking, any how it set off the alarm.

  aChristian, you are right there was no quarrel, they simply threw his ass in jail, for stating a scientific fact, that was neither inspired by god, nor revealed to the church first. by the way (josh 10:13) did you say a misunderstod or misinterpreted scripture? funny how the misunderstanding and labeling continues, no?

  Trevor, that was priceless, guess that explains the fangs that have sprouted in my gums. who would have known?

  Wouldnt apostasy simply begin by renouncing a specific view point? and not the entire faith?
  Galileo claimed that the earth was round and went against the popular views of the church. he stuck to his views and was labeled a heretic inspite of having evidence. in his later life he was thrown in jail for standing his ground.
  the irony lays within the fact that psalm states the earth is round. so in reality what was he really going against? what was he thinking for actually providing evidence for the churches holy book? a round planet, a concept clarified had the church fathers read. sup

  didnt jesus hold a difference of opinion and not conform (dissent) with the hipocracy of the church leaders of his time? when he healed on the sabbath, didnt he differ in opinion from the established doctrine, dissent from the dogma? arent these the makings of an apostate?
  wasnt the loyalty to the mosaic law abandoned after his death. no sacrifices and no sababbath observations etc.(as to not ramble) interesting how no one dare call him a heretic or an apostate.

  three reasons why we believe the jehovah's witnesses have the truth.. 1. we will live forever in paradise and watch everything die over and over.. 2. because we don't trust our familymembers or friends who were very close to us, are apostates now.

  but the governing body, who we don't know at all, trust our lives to and do everything they say.. 3. governing body can't find willing women to have oral sex with.

  props on taking the time and making the effort to stream together the quotes that yet again show the ambivalence of the WT.
  Apparently someone forgot to pass out the meds cause their polar views are coming through very clear.
  my take is that you can research as long as you keep your findings to yourself and dont share them, it is an excercise in keeping the code of silence, practiced by the higher ups. unless of course the comparisons come from within their libraries, why would any sincere, mature, truth seeking individual want to read anything other than WTBTS publications when they have 'been taught' that everything outside their pages, is touched by satan and his demons.
  oh wait i see a paradox here those quotes DID COME FROM THEIR LIBRARIES. . . gosh, wonder whose strings satan is really puppeteering?
